Business
CCL Industries Inc. is the world's largest converter of pressure-sensitive and specialty extruded film materials, providing innovative label, packaging, and security solutions to global corporations, government institutions, small businesses, and consumers in the home and personal care, premium food and beverage, healthcare and specialty, automotive and durables, and consumer markets. The company operates through four main reporting segments: CCL Label, which produces pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, expanded content labels, WashOff labels, RFID solutions, specialty electronics, promotional items, highly decorated extruded and laminated plastic tubes, and long-life films; Avery, the leading supplier of labels, specialty converted media, software for short-run digital printing, address and shipping labels, business cards, name badges, binders, sheet protectors, and writing instruments sold via distributors, mass-market stores, and e-commerce; Checkpoint, a developer of RF and RFID-based technology systems for loss prevention, inventory management, labeling, and tagging in retail and apparel; and Innovia, a producer of high-performance biaxially oriented polypropylene films and other multi-layer surface-engineered films for labels, packaging, and security. Complementary offerings include aluminum aerosols, specialty bottles, folded instructional leaflets, precision decorated die-cut components, electronic displays, and polymer banknote substrates. Founded in 1951 and headquartered in Toronto, Canada, with additional corporate offices in Framingham, Massachusetts, CCL Industries employs approximately 26,300 people across 213 production facilities in 42 countries spanning North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East. In June 2024, the company completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% interest in its Middle East joint venture Pacman-CCL from Albwardy Investment LLC for approximately $143 million, gaining full ownership of label production facilities in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan.
