Business
CommScope Holding Company, Inc. designs, manufactures, installs, and supports hardware infrastructure and software intelligence for communication and entertainment networks globally. Its core products and services include broadband connectivity solutions such as fiber optic and cable infrastructure; networking products including structured cabling systems (SYSTIMAX), switching, routing, and network management software; indoor wireless solutions such as distributed antenna systems (DAS) and small cells; and advanced wireless access points and AI-powered Wi-Fi solutions under the RUCKUS brand. It serves service providers, telecommunications companies, data centers, enterprises, venues, and commercial buildings across multiple regions worldwide. Founded in 1976 and headquartered in Hickory, North Carolina, CommScope operates key business segments including Networking, Intelligent Cellular and Security Solutions (NICS) and Access Network Solutions (ANS). In the last two years, CommScope has undertaken significant portfolio restructuring and strategic divestitures. In January 2024, it completed the sale of its Home Networks business to Vantiva, strengthening its focus on network infrastructure solutions. In 2024 and 2025, CommScope divested its Outdoor Wireless Networks segment and Distributed Antenna Systems business within the NICS segment to Amphenol Corporation for $2.1 billion and its Connectivity and Cable Solutions segment for $10.5 billion, shifting towards a more concentrated portfolio emphasizing broadband and enterprise networking. Recent innovations include the launch of RUCKUS AI and Wi-Fi 7 products targeting multi-dwelling unit (MDU) environments and the opening of its FAST Track Network Showcase and Training Center in North Carolina to advance fiber architecture solutions. These actions aim to optimize capital structure, reduce debt, and focus growth on high-demand wireless and broadband networking technologies while maintaining global operations. The company focuses on infrastructure and intelligent connectivity solutions that enable broadband, enterprise, and wireless networks across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific regions. CommScope’s products and solutions support cable, telephone, data center, digital broadcast satellite operators, and mobile service operators, helping them deliver high-speed internet, voice, and media services. Its portfolio integrates legacy wired technologies with next-generation wireless and IoT network capabilities. The company's strategic shifts and product launches position it as a leader in network connectivity solutions adapting to evolving telecommunications and enterprise networking demands.
