Business
Black Gold Exploration Corp. is an independent energy company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, appraisal, and development of conventional crude oil and natural gas properties. The company's core operations and service offerings encompass the exploration and production of light to medium crude oil; the extraction, processing, and commercialization of associated natural gas and natural gas liquids; the application of advanced 3D seismic data acquisition, subsurface imaging, and geophysical reservoir modeling to delineate shallow hydrocarbon deposits; the drilling, cased-hole completion, and re-entry of exploratory and development wells; wellbore testing, flow stimulation, and artificial lift optimization; and the construction, maintenance, and operation of surface production infrastructure, storage batteries, and gathering systems. Black Gold Exploration Corp. conducts upstream exploration and development activities across select sedimentary basins in North and South America, focusing primarily on multi-pay conventional reservoirs in the Illinois Basin within Clay and Vigo counties, Indiana, United States, as well as concessions in the Golfo San Jorge Basin within the Chubut Province, Argentina. The company's extracted hydrocarbons are marketed to commercial crude oil refiners, midstream pipeline operators, regional processing facilities, and wholesale energy distributors. Founded in 2020 as 1280582 B.C. Ltd. and renamed in 2021, Black Gold Exploration Corp. is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and maintains operating subsidiaries including Spinell S.A. and Energy Holding Americas 1 Inc. In recent developments, the company achieved a public listing on the Canadian Securities Exchange under the ticker symbol BGX in February 2024, followed by cross-market quotations on the OTCQB Venture Market and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. In strategic transactions, the company completed the acquisition of a 95% interest in the 2,000-hectare El Carmen hydrocarbon project in Chubut Province through its subsidiary Spinell S.A., finalized comprehensive environmental impact studies, and secured formal accreditation on Argentina's national oil and gas operator roster. In the United States, the company established strategic joint venture and participation agreements with LGX Energy Corp. and Alder Energy LLC to develop assets in the Illinois Basin, earning a 10% working interest in the Fritz 2-30 well alongside a 30% participation interest across prospective leaseholds through Energy Holding Americas 1 Inc., successfully initiating hydrocarbon production and multi-zone flow evaluations across the Jeffersonville and Geneva formations. In addition, the company implemented a 1-for-10 share capital consolidation in February 2026 to streamline its corporate capital structure and support continued field appraisal and drilling programs.
