Business
Catalent, Inc. Catalent, Inc. (CTLT) operates as a leading global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) that develops, manufactures, and supplies advanced delivery technologies and solutions for drugs, biologics, cell and gene therapies, and consumer health products; its core offerings span oral technologies including soft gelatin capsules, Zydis fast-dissolve tablets, modified release and immediate release solid oral dosage forms; biologics services featuring GPEx cell line development, SMARTag bioconjugation for antibody-drug conjugates, and fill-finish manufacturing; pharma services such as prefilled syringes, blow-fill-seal unit doses, respiratory formulations, and clinical supply chain management with FastChain and CTSuccess platforms; as well as self-care products leveraging OptiGel abuse-deterrent and bioavailability-enhancing technologies like OptiForm Solution Suite. The company serves pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and consumer health firms worldwide across more than 50 sites on four continents, targeting innovators from small virtual organizations to large multinationals with end-to-end support from early-stage formulation and preclinical manufacturing to commercial-scale production and packaging. Founded in 2007 with roots tracing to the 1930 invention of the rotary die softgel process, Catalent maintains its global corporate headquarters in Tampa, Florida, following a September 2025 relocation from Somerset, New Jersey to support innovation and growth alongside its long-standing St. Petersburg manufacturing facility. In December 2024, Novo Holdings A/S completed its $16.5 billion all-cash acquisition of Catalent, positioning it as a subsidiary while enabling continued focus on patient-first delivery; this transaction included the divestiture of three fill-finish sites in Italy, the US, and Belgium to Novo Nordisk A/S; Catalent also entered a strategic collaboration with IsomAb for clinical trial product supply of ISM-001 and debuted a refreshed corporate brand in late 2025 emphasizing customer service excellence.
