Business
Cygnus Metals Limited is a diversified critical-minerals exploration and development company focused on the acquisition, exploration, resource delineation and potential development of copper, gold, lithium, rare-earth-element and base-metal mineral properties. The Company’s principal assets comprise the Chibougamau Copper-Gold Project in Québec, Canada, including the Corner Bay, Copper Rand, Cedar Bay, Golden Eye, Joe Mann and Gwillim deposits and prospects, as well as a centralized Chibougamau processing facility; it pursues a hub-and-spoke development strategy intended to supply multiple regional deposits to the facility. Cygnus also holds the James Bay Lithium Projects in Québec’s James Bay district, including the Pontax, Auclair and Sakami lithium properties, and maintains rare-earth-element and base-metal exploration projects in Western Australia. Its activities include geological mapping, geophysical surveying, drilling, mineral-resource evaluation, metallurgical and economic studies, permitting and early-stage mine-development planning, with a customer and end-market focus on the critical-minerals supply chain. The Company operates principally in Canada and Australia, is incorporated in Australia in 2015, and is headquartered in West Perth, Western Australia. In December 2024, Cygnus acquired all outstanding shares of Doré Copper Mining Corp. through a Canadian statutory plan of arrangement, completing the combination on December 31, 2024 and creating a dual-listed company with the Chibougamau copper-gold assets and James Bay lithium portfolio. Recent operational initiatives include expanded drilling and geophysical programs at Chibougamau to grow and convert resources, exploration at Copper Rand and Gwillim, and a March 2026 A$25 million institutional and sophisticated-investor placement to fund resource growth, exploration, permitting, early capital works and an updated economic study. In June 2026, the Company announced a proposed scheme of arrangement under which Central Asia Metals PLC would acquire 100% of Cygnus’ shares, with scheme documentation and shareholder-approval processes advancing during 2026.
