Daifuku Co., Ltd. provides consulting, engineering, design, manufacture, installation, and after-sales services for logistics systems and material handling equipment; offers semiconductor production line systems, flat panel display production line systems, automobile production line systems, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), conveyor systems, sorters, cleanroom automation, baggage handling systems, car wash machines, and advanced software solutions for logistics optimization; and serves industries including automotive, e-commerce, food and beverage, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, airports, and manufacturing. Founded in 1937 and headquartered in Osaka, Japan, the company operates globally with sales offices and production sites in 26 countries and regions, including principal locations such as Tokyo Head Office, Shiga Works, Komaki Works, and subsidiaries like Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation in the United States, Daifuku (China) Co., Ltd., and Scarabee Aviation Group in the Netherlands. Daifuku conducts business through segments such as Daifuku, Contec, Daifuku Webb Holding Company (now Daifuku North America Holding Company), and others, targeting distribution centers, factories, and airports with comprehensive automation solutions. In recent developments, Daifuku completed the absorption merger of its wholly owned subsidiary Iwasaki Seisakusho Co., Ltd. effective April 1, 2024, to concentrate management resources and improve operational efficiency in flat-panel display and semiconductor equipment; acquired full ownership of Scarabee Aviation Group in April 2025 by purchasing the remaining 15% stake, enhancing its airport security screening and baggage handling capabilities following the initial 2019 majority acquisition; expanded its U.S. manufacturing plant in Hobart, Indiana, with a 35 million USD investment, doubling production capacity for conveyors, sorters, and AS/RS to meet growing North American automation demand, with operations beginning in October 2025; changed its fiscal year-end from March to December in 2024 and announced the Driving Innovative Impact 2030 strategy with a new four-year business plan through 2027; and commenced renovations at Shiga Works to increase production capacity and logistics efficiency while earning recognitions such as the Minister of Health, Labor, and Welfare Award for Human Resources Development.
