Business
DallasNews Corporation, a Dallas, Texas-based holding company founded in 1842 and headquartered at 1954 Commerce Street, serves as the parent entity of The Dallas Morning News and Medium Giant, focusing on local journalism, print and digital publishing, and integrated marketing services primarily in North Texas and nationwide. The company publishes The Dallas Morning News, Texas' leading daily newspaper with intense regional focus and nine Pulitzer Prizes; dallasnews.com and associated digital platforms reaching over 12 million monthly users; Al Dia, an online Spanish-language news source; and The News, a metropolitan newspaper; while Medium Giant provides full-service marketing including intelligence-driven strategy, creative services, website management, paid search, social and targeted digital advertising, direct mail, promotional products, out-of-market print inserts, over-the-top streaming ads, banner ads on news sites, social media and mobile apps, plus multi-channel solutions via cloud-based software subscriptions. It further offers commercial printing, distribution, shared mail packaging, and niche publications to business clients and communities. In September 2025, DallasNews Corporation completes its acquisition by Hearst Entertainment, Inc. for $16.50 per share in cash after rejecting competing bids from MNG Enterprises, an Alden Global Capital affiliate offering up to $20 per share, marking its transition from a publicly traded entity on Nasdaq (formerly A.H. Belo Corporation until its June 2021 name change) to a private subsidiary within Hearst's diversified media portfolio. This strategic shift follows leadership changes including Grant S. Moise as CEO in 2022 and operational moves like relocating to the renovated Statler Library site in 2017, alongside ongoing digital expansions and cost efficiencies in print facilities.
