(NYSE: EDU, SEHK: 9901) is a leading provider of private educational services in China, offering test preparation courses for overseas and domestic exams, overseas study consulting, high school and non-academic tutoring, online education platforms including Koolearn.com, intelligent learning systems and devices, educational materials development and distribution, primary and secondary school academic tutoring, and pre-school education programs. The company operates through segments encompassing educational services and test preparation courses; private label products and livestreaming e-commerce via its subsidiary East Buy, in which it holds a majority stake; overseas study consulting services; and online education and other services, serving students from kindergarten through university levels, as well as adults targeting language training, entrance exams for U.S. and Commonwealth institutions, and comprehensive skill development. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Beijing's Haidian District, New Oriental conducts operations primarily across China in over 60 cities, with a network of schools, learning centers, bookstores, and digital platforms reaching millions of enrollments annually. In recent developments, the company has expanded its non-academic tutoring and intelligent learning systems to approximately 60 cities, achieving revenue growth of 15% year-over-year in its new educational initiatives for the first fiscal quarter ended August 31, 2025, alongside 14% growth in adult and university test preparation segments; it launched AI-powered intelligent learning devices and smart study solutions, invested $28.5 million in upgrading its online-merge-offline (OMO) teaching platform, and announced a $300 million share repurchase program. New Oriental continues to enhance product capabilities, educational resources, and operational efficiency, with study tours and research camps now connected across 55 cities; total net revenue rose 18.7% in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025, reflecting sustained momentum in core education and diversified services including the Oriental Selection e-commerce platform for agricultural products and the new New Oriental Cultural Tourism brand offering cultural tours, study abroad camps, and services for midlife, family, and youth groups.
