Business
B Investments Holding S.A.E. is an Egypt-based private equity and growth capital investment firm that specializes in direct equity investments, strategic acquisitions, and active portfolio management across high-growth sectors. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, the company is listed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX: BINV) and managed by BPE Partners. The firm provides long-term growth equity capital, strategic operational oversight, corporate governance support, restructuring advisory, and value creation to mid-sized and large enterprises primarily across Egypt and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The company operates across multiple core business segments and platforms, providing diversified investment, financial, healthcare, consumer, and infrastructure solutions: Non-Banking Financial Services and FinTech: Provision of digital payments, point-of-sale (POS) processing, bill aggregation, merchant acquiring, e-wallets, and consumer microfinance solutions through Basata Financial Holding (Basata E-Payments); digital banking infrastructure, financial technologies, and multi-asset financial services through OB Financial Holding (formerly Orascom Financial Holding) and its digital payment platforms such as Klivvr. Real Estate Development: Development, construction, master planning, and asset management of large-scale integrated urban communities, mixed-use commercial properties, and residential compounds through its strategic equity holding in Madinet Masr (formerly Madinet Nasr for Housing and Development). Specialized Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals: Infertility treatment, in-vitro fertilization (IVF), reproductive health, and specialized clinical care services through B Healthcare Investments S.A.E. and the Egyptian IVF Center; retail pharmaceutical distribution, prescription dispensing, personal care products, and pharmacy network operations through a strategic joint venture and equity investment in the El Ezaby Pharmacy chain. Food and Beverage Retail and Manufacturing: Production, packaging, cold-chain distribution, and premium grocery retailing of fresh foods, chilled and frozen ready-to-cook items, butchery, deli products, and gourmet specialty goods through Gourmet Egypt. Renewable Energy and Infrastructure: Utility-scale renewable energy generation, clean electricity transmission, and photovoltaic (PV) power plant operations through Infinity Solar assets situated in the Benban Solar Park in Aswan, Egypt. In recent corporate developments, B Investments Holding completed a landmark mandatory tender offer and share-swap transaction to acquire a majority controlling interest of approximately 70 percent in Orascom Financial Holding, subsequently executing a corporate reorganization and rebranding the entity as OB Financial Holding in early 2025 to spearhead its consolidated non-banking financial services platform. In September 2026, the company approved the acquisition of a 53.5 percent controlling equity stake in BIG Investment Group Ltd., thereby expanding its effective ownership and strategic control over Madinet Masr. Furthermore, the firm has continued expanding its specialized healthcare platform through targeted capital injections into B Healthcare Investments to acquire additional specialized fertility and women's health clinics, while scaling the operational footprint and logistics of its El Ezaby pharmacy partnership and deploying additional growth capital into Basata to enhance SME payment technologies and micro-financing capabilities.
