Business
Fiserv, Inc. is a global provider of payments and financial technology solutions headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, founded in 1984. The company delivers a comprehensive suite of products and services including account processing and digital banking solutions; card issuer processing and network services; payment processing; e-commerce; merchant acquiring and processing; and point-of-sale systems through its Clover platform. Its client base primarily includes financial institutions such as banks, credit unions, securities broker-dealers, mortgage companies, insurance firms, and retailers, with operations concentrated mainly in the U.S. and Canada, where 85% of its 2024 revenue was generated, alongside a growing international presence. Fiserv's main product lines span payments and fintech solutions, including transaction processing, electronic bill payment and presentment, business process outsourcing, and integrated business management platforms. The Clover point-of-sale system is a key product for merchants, integrating payment acceptance and sales tracking. The company also provides CardHub for digital payment cards and Pinch Payments, a payment facilitator solution for SaaS businesses. In the past two years, Fiserv has pursued strategic expansions through acquisitions and partnerships to enhance its technology footprint and market reach. Notably, in 2024, it acquired Finxact, a core banking software provider, strengthening its cloud-native banking infrastructure capabilities. It fully acquired AIB Merchant Services in 2025 to expand its European market presence and accelerate the growth of its Clover platform within Ireland and the broader European region. Earlier acquisitions include MoneyPass, a surcharge-free debit card network, and recent investments in advisory services through acquiring Smith Consulting Group to deepen its operational consulting offerings for community banks and credit unions. Additionally, Fiserv has realigned its business segments since early 2024 into Merchant Solutions and Financial Solutions to streamline service delivery focused on integrated payment and financial technology offerings. These initiatives position Fiserv as a leader in facilitating payments and financial services technology globally, combining innovative product development with strategic acquisitions to maintain competitive differentiation and growth in the evolving fintech landscape. The company remains a Fortune 500 entity and a member of the S&P 500 index, reflecting its scale and industry influence.
