Business
The First of Long Island Corporation, previously a bank holding entity for The First National Bank of Long Island, has officially concluded its merger with ConnectOne Bancorp, Inc., effective June 2, 2025. Now operating under the ConnectOne brand, this unified institution extends a wide spectrum of financial services to individual clients, small and medium-sized enterprises, professional firms, non-profit organizations, and governmental bodies across a significantly broadened operational footprint. The combined bank delivers an expansive array of offerings, including various checking and savings accounts, money market and certificate of deposit products, and individual retirement arrangements. Its lending portfolio features commercial and residential mortgage solutions, commercial and industrial loans, Small Business Administration (SBA) financing, construction and land development credit, consumer loans, and revolving home equity lines. Supplemental financial services include debit and credit cards, investment management, life insurance, trust and estate planning, custody services, alongside modern digital banking tools such as online and mobile access, bill payment, lockbox services, ACH transactions, wire transfers, and safe deposit box rentals. The consolidated network now encompasses over 60 branches spanning the New York metropolitan area, including Long Island, New Jersey, and Southeast Florida. With combined assets of approximately $14 billion, the newly formed ConnectOne entity builds upon The First National Bank of Long Island's foundation, established in Glen Head, New York, in 1927, delivering an enhanced, client-focused banking experience.
