Business
AB Akola Group is an agribusiness and food production holding company operating across the Baltic region and international markets. Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania, the company manages an integrated field-to-table business model spanning four principal operating segments: Partners for Farmers, Food Production, Farming, and Other Products and Services. The company offers a diverse portfolio of products and services, including agricultural inputs such as certified seeds, mineral and organic fertilizers, plant protection products, micronutrients, and farming machinery; agricultural commodity origination, trading, cleaning, drying, and elevator storage services for wheat, barley, rapeseed, corn, and feedstuffs; industrial and consumer food products comprising wheat flour, specialized flour mixtures, breadcrumbs, instant noodles, instant porridges, ready-to-eat packaged meals, and preserved organic soups; poultry products including fresh and frozen chicken meat, processed poultry cuts, marinated convenience foods, sausages, and table eggs; agricultural farming operations producing raw milk, cereals, and oilseeds; and specialized animal health and agricultural supply services encompassing compound animal feeds, premixes, pet food, veterinary medicines, farm hygiene supplies, and pest control services. AB Akola Group operates over 60 subsidiaries across Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom, marketing its output domestically and exporting food and agricultural commodities to dozens of global destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East through key operational entities such as AB Kauno Grūdai, AB Linas Agro, AB Vilniaus Paukštynas, AB Kaišiadorių Paukštynas, AS Kekava Foods, and AS Dotnuva Baltic. In recent developments, the company executed a corporate rebranding in December 2023, changing its name from AB Linas Agro Group to AB Akola Group and updating its Nasdaq Vilnius ticker to AKO1L to reflect its vertically integrated agribusiness and food manufacturing strategy. In July 2023, the group expanded its value-added convenience food manufacturing capabilities through the acquisition of Lithuanian ready-to-eat and organic food producer Grybai LT. The group further diversified its consumer offerings in April 2024 by acquiring a minority stake in Brite Drinks Ltd, a United Kingdom-based functional beverage startup. Operationally, AB Akola Group has advanced its sustainability initiatives through an eleven million euro investment in biomethane renewable energy production facilities and ongoing capital allocation programs, including regular share buy-back initiatives.
