Business
GlobeImmune, Inc. (GBIM) is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Louisville, Colorado, and founded in 1995 that develops therapeutic vaccines for cancer and infectious diseases based on its proprietary Tarmogen platform; Tarmogens consist of genetically modified yeast expressing disease-associated antigens to activate T cells targeting infected or malignant cells. Core products include GI-4000 targeting mutated Ras proteins in pancreas cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, colorectal cancer and other Ras-mutated solid tumors; GI-6207 against CEA in solid tumors; GI-6301 targeting Brachyury protein in various cancers; GS-4774 (formerly GI-4774) for chronic hepatitis B virus infection; and earlier candidates such as GI-5005 for hepatitis C and GI-2010 for HIV, with preclinical programs including GI-7000 for melanoma and GI-19000 for tuberculosis. The company operates primarily in the United States with partnerships including Celgene Corporation since 2009 for oncology Tarmogens and the National Cancer Institute for cancer vaccines, though its Gilead Sciences collaboration for hepatitis B ended in November 2016 following clinical failure; in March 2017, NantCell, Inc. acquired a controlling interest and exclusive rights to GI-6207, GI-6301 and preclinical GI-6100, restarting manufacturing at its Louisville facility to supply trials, while GlobeImmune operates as a subsidiary of ImmunityBio, Inc. with no marketed products as of recent updates.
