Business
Reckitt Benckiser Group plc (Reckitt) manufactures and markets a broad portfolio of health, hygiene and nutrition consumer products worldwide; operates through Hygiene, Health and Nutrition segments; and sells brands including Dettol antiseptic and hygiene products, Lysol disinfectants, Harpic toilet cleaners, Finish dishwashing detergents, Air Wick air fresheners, Nurofen pain relief, Gaviscon indigestion remedies, Strepsils throat lozenges, Mucinex cough medicines, Durex contraceptives, Veet hair removal, Enfamil and Nutramigen infant nutrition formulas, Airborne vitamins and supplements, and Neuriva cognitive health products. The company maintains manufacturing facilities and operations in around 60 countries, with products distributed in nearly 200 markets, targeting households, families and healthcare consumers across developed and emerging regions. Founded through the 1999 merger of Reckitt & Colman plc and Benckiser N.V., with origins tracing to 1823 and 1840 respectively, Reckitt is headquartered in Slough, United Kingdom, and lists on the London Stock Exchange under ticker RKT.L. Reckitt pursues a focused strategy emphasizing 11 high-growth Powerbrands in health and hygiene, while streamlining its portfolio through divestitures of non-core assets. In July 2025, the company agreed to divest its Essential Home business—encompassing air care (Air Wick), surface care (Cillit Bang, Harpic), pest control (Mortein) and laundry care (Calgon, Woolite) brands generating approximately £2.0 billion in 2024 net revenue—to Advent International for up to US$4.8 billion enterprise value, retaining a 30% equity stake; the transaction, expected to complete by December 31, 2025, pending regulatory approvals, will enable a special dividend of about US$2.2 billion to shareholders alongside ongoing share buybacks and cost efficiencies targeting a fixed-cost base of 19% of net revenue by 2027. Recent trading updates reflect like-for-like net revenue growth of 7.0% in Q3 2025, driven by core health and hygiene momentum.
