Strike Energy Limited (ASX:STX) is an independent Australian gas producer, developer and explorer that focuses on conventional gas resources in the Perth Basin of Western Australia. The company operates across approximately 3,000 square kilometers of acreage, offering natural gas production from its Walyering gas field; development projects including the flagship Greater Erregulla Permian gas field encompassing South Erregulla and West Erregulla; and exploration opportunities such as Ocean Hill, Project Haber and Perth Basin Geothermal. It targets domestic gas and electricity markets, generating material cash flows from Walyering's gross production capacity of up to 33 terajoules per day, while advancing power station developments and additional gas fields. Founded in 1997 and headquartered at 66 Kings Park Road, West Perth, Western Australia, the company changed its name from Strike Oil Limited in December 2009. In July 2025, Strike Energy secured an A$89 million strategic investment from Carnarvon Energy Limited through a two-tranche placement at A$0.12 per share, making Carnarvon its largest shareholder with up to a 19.9% stake; the funding fully supports delivery of the 85 MW South Erregulla gas-fired peaking power station by October 2026, life extension of the Walyering project, progression toward final investment decision on West Erregulla, and maturation of further Perth Basin opportunities.
