Jersey Oil and Gas Plc is an independent energy enterprise concentrating on the exploration, appraisal, development, and eventual production of oil and gas reserves within the United Kingdom Continental Shelf of the North Sea. The company's strategic focus is centered on the Greater Buchan Area (GBA), which includes the Buchan oil field redevelopment and the J2 and Verbier oil discoveries, held under licences P2498 and P2170. Jersey Oil and Gas maintains a 20% non-operated stake in the GBA project, benefiting from a financing arrangement that carries its share of development expenditures through to the initial oil production phase, primarily with partners NEO Energy and Serica Energy. While the Buchan redevelopment is a key undertaking, aiming for first oil, the project has encountered delays due to evolving UK fiscal and regulatory policies, including new environmental assessment requirements. The company is also actively exploring opportunities to acquire additional producing assets to enhance cash flow. Originally known as Trap Oil Group plc, the company rebranded to Jersey Oil and Gas Plc in August 2015 and operates from its headquarters in Saint Helier, Jersey.
