- Golden Growers Cooperative functions as an agricultural cooperative for its approximate 1,500 members, predominantly corn producers in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. It holds a 50% ownership stake in ProGold LLC, a partnership with Cargill Inc. ProGold LLC possesses a corn wet-milling plant situated in Wahpeton, North Dakota, which transforms corn into high fructose corn syrup, corn gluten feed, corn gluten meal, and corn germ for oil production. The cooperative’s purpose is to allow its members to supply corn to this processing plant. In a strategic shift, members have approved a plan for liquidation and dissolution, which includes Cargill purchasing the cooperative's 50% interest in ProGold LLC for $81 million following the facility lease expiration on December 31, 2026. Golden Growers Cooperative was established in 1994 and maintains its headquarters in West Fargo, North Dakota.
