Genuine Parts Company (NYSE: GPC), founded in 1928 and headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, distributes automotive and industrial replacement parts through two primary segments; the Automotive Parts Group offers replacement parts, accessories and service items for virtually all vehicle makes and models under brands including NAPA Auto Parts via approximately 3,100 company-owned stores and 1,400 independently owned stores primarily in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Australasia, France, the U.K., Ireland, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Portugal; the Industrial Parts Group, operating as Motion Industries, provides bearings, hoses, power transmission components, automation, conveyance, hydraulics, fluid power and robotics products to manufacturing plants, industrial facilities and resource extraction companies in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Australasia. The company serves repair shops, fleet operators, dealerships and individual vehicle owners from over 10,700 locations across 17 countries with more than 63,000 employees, supported by an extensive distribution network, sophisticated inventory management and strong supplier relationships. In recent developments, Genuine Parts Company acquired Motor Parts & Equipment Corporation (MPEC), the largest independent NAPA store owner in the U.S., effective April 30, 2024, advancing its strategy to own more stores in priority markets; completed over 500 store acquisitions in 2024 with total spend exceeding $1 billion; integrated prior deals including Emtek and Walker in 2024; announced executive changes with Will Stengel as President and CEO in April 2024 alongside a CEO leadership transition; advanced board refreshment in September 2025 via a cooperation agreement with Elliott Investment Management adding new directors; and reported second quarter 2025 results in line with expectations amid cost restructuring and market challenges.
