Founded in 1938 and headquartered in South Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, the company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 1959 and operates manufacturing and distribution facilities across eight countries including Australia, New Zealand, the United States, France and South Africa, serving original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers with over 90,000 stock-keeping units. In recent developments, Amotiv completed its transformation to a pure-play automotive group with the 2023 divestment of Davey Water Products, rebranded from GUD Holdings in June 2024, acquired Caravan Electrical Solutions in March 2024 to enhance its BWI Group portfolio with electrical systems for caravan OEMs, added Vision X Sweden/Rindab and Milford Cargo Barriers & Towbars in fiscal 2025, initiated a 5% on-market share buyback in October 2024 and appointed new non-executive directors James Fazzino, Raelene Murphy and David Coolidge during 2025.
