Business
Gyre Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: GYRE) is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of small-molecule anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic drugs targeting organ fibrosis diseases, including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, liver fibrosis, pneumoconiosis, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Founded in 2002 and headquartered in San Diego, California, the company offers commercial-stage products ETUARY (pirfenidone), approved in China for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and under Phase 3 trials for pneumoconiosis, dermatomyositis-associated interstitial lung disease, systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease, and radiation-induced lung injury; avatrombopag, launched in China in March 2025 for thrombocytopenia in chronic liver disease and immune thrombocytopenic purpura; and nintedanib, planned for launch in China in 2025 for pulmonary fibrosis indications; while advancing a pipeline that includes hydronidone (F351), a pirfenidone analogue in Phase 3 for chronic hepatitis B-associated liver fibrosis in China with NDA filing expected in late 2025 and under U.S. IND for MASH fibrosis; F573 in Phase 2 for acute-on-chronic liver failure; F528 in preclinical development for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; and F230 for pulmonary arterial hypertension. Through its 65.2% indirect majority interest in Gyre Pharmaceuticals (Beijing Continent Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd.) acquired in October 2023, Gyre conducts operations primarily in China and pursues U.S. development, targeting patients with chronic liver and lung diseases via partnerships with hepatologists, hematologists, pulmonologists, and oncologists. Recent developments include the March 2025 NMPA approval for a pirfenidone trial in radiation-induced lung injury entering oncology supportive care, completion of enrollment in the Phase 3 pneumoconiosis trial in October 2025, positive topline Phase 3 results for hydronidone in chronic hepatitis B liver fibrosis announced for presentation at AASLD 2025, and Q1 2025 revenue of $22.1 million driven by expanding commercialization efforts.
