Business
Hypertension Diagnostics, Inc. (HDII) engages in the business of plastic reprocessing through its subsidiary HDi Plastics Inc., providing pelletized resin and clean shredded and ground plastics material to domestic manufacturing companies; the company exited its prior medical device operations focused on noninvasive cardiovascular profiling systems such as the CVProfilor DO-2020, CVProfilor MD-3000, and HD/PulseWave CR-2000 research system, which assessed arterial elasticity indices for physicians, researchers, and cardiovascular specialists. Founded in 1988 and headquartered at 550 Highway 7 East, Unit 316, Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada L4B 3Z4, it originally developed proprietary medical devices to detect subtle changes in artery elasticity in the United States and internationally before shifting strategic focus. The company began plastics reprocessing operations in Austin, Texas, entered an agreement with China Specialty International Limited in April 2021 to support its new direction, and continues to serve the growing demand for reprocessed post-consumer and post-industrial plastic waste.
