Business
Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd. Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd. (HG) is a Bermuda-headquartered specialty insurance and reinsurance company founded in 2013 that underwrites a diversified portfolio of property, casualty, and specialty risks on a global basis through its wholly owned subsidiaries. The company operates via three principal underwriting platforms: Hamilton Global Specialty, which provides commercial specialty and casualty insurance for medium- to large-sized accounts as well as specialty reinsurance through Lloyd’s Syndicate 4000 managed by Hamilton Managing Agency Limited and Hamilton Insurance DAC in Ireland; Hamilton Re, which offers property, casualty, and specialty reinsurance globally alongside high excess Bermuda market specialty insurance primarily for U.S.-based Fortune 1000 commercial risks, with Hamilton Re US focusing on casualty and specialty reinsurance; and Hamilton Select, a U.S. domiciled excess and surplus (E&S) carrier targeting small- to mid-sized hard-to-place casualty insurance in niches such as products liability, contractors, allied medical, general casualty, and medical professionals. Core products and services span casualty reinsurance, U.S. casualty reinsurance, property treaty reinsurance, specialty reinsurance, financial lines insurance, property D&F insurance, general liability reinsurance, healthcare reinsurance, aviation reinsurance, accident & health insurance, cyber insurance, excess energy insurance, environmental insurance, financial institutions insurance, fine art & specie insurance, kidnap & ransom insurance, political risk insurance, and others across commercial, industrial, and consumer sectors. Hamilton maintains operations in key locations including its headquarters in Pembroke, Bermuda; London and Dublin for international access; and New York for U.S. activities, serving brokers, medium- to large-sized commercial accounts, Fortune 1000 risks, and hard-to-place E&S markets worldwide. In recent developments, the company completed a strategic acquisition in 2025 to support its expansion into new specialty insurance lines amid a 34% stock rally over the past year, announced an increase in its equity buyback authorization to $300 million on November 4, 2025, and reported $2.4 billion in gross premiums written for the year ended December 31, 2024, reflecting sustained growth across its platforms.
