H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB (publ) is a Swedish multinational fashion and design company that offers clothing, accessories, footwear, cosmetics, home textiles and homeware through its portfolio of brands including H&M (encompassing H&M HOME, H&M Move and H&M Beauty), COS, Weekday (including Cheap Monday and Monki), & Other Stories, ARKET, Singular Society and Sellpy. Founded in 1947 by Erling Persson and headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, the company operates over 4,000 stores in more than 79 markets with online sales in 60 markets; it generates approximately 95% of revenue outside Sweden and sells via integrated digital and physical channels as well as franchise partners in select markets. Its ventures such as Treadler and Creator Studio focus on B2B solutions, while H&M Group Ventures invests in startups like SRTX, Colorifix and Vestuá to advance recycled materials and new business models. The company targets women, men, teenagers, children and home furnishing customers with value-driven, sustainable fast fashion across sportswear, underwear, trendy and classic garments. H&M Group emphasizes omni-channel growth by enhancing store layouts, presentation, technology and digital platforms to improve customer experience. Recent developments include the appointment of Daniel Ervér as CEO in 2024, succeeding Helena Helmersson while retaining his role as CEO of the H&M brand; the relaunch of Cheap Monday under Weekday; entry into Brazil with its first store and online launch in August 2025, receiving strong customer reception; opening of a flagship store in Le Marais, Paris in September 2025; a share buyback programme initiated in November 2025 running until January 2026; and sales growth of 2% in local currencies for the third quarter and nine months of 2025 alongside operating profit increases and reduced inventory. In 2023, it formed Looper Textile Co. joint venture with Remondis for textile recycling and launched All in Equestrian sports lab; it also issued a EUR 500 million green bond to fund circularity and climate initiatives.
