- Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. provides integrated offshore marine and subsea solutions to customers in deepwater oilfield, defense, renewable-energy and emerging-technology markets. The Company operates through Marine Transportation, Subsea Services and Well Intervention businesses, offering high-specification offshore service vessels; dynamically positioned supply, construction-support and specialty vessels; subsea robotics and remotely operated vehicle services; subsea inspection, repair and maintenance; trenching and cable-burial services; offshore well-intervention, decommissioning and related technical services; and integrated project engineering and offshore execution capabilities. Its services support the life cycle of deepwater fields and offshore infrastructure, including exploration, development, production, maintenance, subsea construction, pipeline and cable activities, intervention and abandonment. Hornbeck serves energy companies, government and defense customers, offshore-wind developers, scientific-research users and other non-oilfield marine customers across the U.S. Gulf of America, Brazil and other Latin American markets, West Africa, the North Sea and the European renewable-energy market. Founded in 1997, Hornbeck is headquartered in Covington, Louisiana, and Houston, Texas. In September 2026, the Company completed an all-stock merger with Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc., retaining the Hornbeck Offshore Services name and commencing trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol HOS. The combination expands Hornbeck’s platform with Helix’s well-intervention, robotics, decommissioning, subsea and technical-service capabilities, while retaining the Helix brand for Well Intervention Services. Former Hornbeck securityholders hold approximately 55% and former Helix shareholders approximately 45% of the combined company on a fully diluted basis. In 2026, Hornbeck also entered into a memorandum of understanding and made a strategic investment in Deployable Energy to evaluate applications for compact nuclear-reactor technology on vessels, offshore installations, floating data centers and power barges.
