IHI Corporation IHI Corporation (IHICY) manufactures and sells heavy machinery and industrial equipment across four primary segments: Resources, Energy and Environment; Social Infrastructure; Industrial Systems and General-Purpose Machinery; and Aero Engine, Space and Defense. The company produces power systems for land-based plants and ships; carbon solutions including boilers, gas turbines, and storage facilities; nuclear power plant components; bridges, water gates, tunnels, transport systems, shield machines, and concrete construction materials; vehicular turbochargers, parking systems, rotating machinery, compressors, heat treatment and surface engineering equipment; material handling and logistics systems; steelmaking and pulp and paper machinery; aero engines; rocket and space utilization equipment; defense systems; and traffic control systems. Founded in 1853 and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, IHI Corporation operates globally, serving industrial, infrastructure, energy, and defense markets in Japan, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. In recent developments, the company establishes IHI Infrastructure Systems Co., Ltd. through integration of its bridge, disaster prevention, and water gate businesses; transfers shares in subsidiaries Niigata Transys Co., Ltd. and Meisei Electric Co., Ltd. to streamline operations; signs agreements with ICEYE for an Earth observation satellite constellation including four initial satellites and options for 20 more, with assembly in Japan targeted for completion by fiscal 2029; forms a joint venture with Vopak for ammonia terminal development in Japan; partners with GE Vernova on ammonia gas turbine combustion facilities; and advances green ammonia projects including co-firing demonstrations in Japan and Indonesia, alongside biomethane production MoUs in Malaysia.
