Business
Investor AB (publ) is a leading Swedish investment company founded in 1916 by the Wallenberg family and headquartered in Stockholm. The company creates long-term value through active ownership of high-quality global businesses organized into three main segments: Listed Companies, featuring significant minority stakes in firms such as ABB, Atlas Copco, Ericsson, Saab, SEB, and Volvo; Patricia Industries, which holds and develops wholly-owned industrial and healthcare companies including Mölnlycke, Sarnova, BraunAbility, and Advanced Instruments; and Investments in EQT, the private equity platform where it maintains a major ownership position. It targets mature companies across healthcare, financial services, industrials, IT, fintech, and related sectors, with operations spanning Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, and other global regions; investment strategies encompass buyouts, growth capital, and minority positions in both listed and unlisted entities. Recent developments include Patricia Industries subsidiary Advanced Instruments completing its USD 2.2 billion acquisition of Nova Biomedical in 2025, with the combined entity operating as Nova Biomedical; additional investments in EQT X co-investment Fortnox for SEK 1.8 billion; share purchases in Atlas Copco for SEK 0.6 billion and Ericsson for SEK 0.5 billion; an agreement to divest 5 million SEB shares; and add-on acquisitions by Sarnova and BraunAbility, alongside portfolio adjustments such as increased stakes in Ericsson and Atlas Copco while reducing exposure to SEB.
