Business
Kronos Bio, Inc. (KRON) is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company that discovers and develops small molecule therapeutics targeting deregulated transcription factors to treat cancer and other serious diseases, including MYC-dependent solid tumors, multiple myeloma, HPV-driven tumors, and Sjögren’s disease. The company offers a pipeline of novel product candidates comprising istisociclib (formerly KB-0742), a CDK9 inhibitor in Phase 1/2 clinical trials for MYC-amplified solid tumors such as ovarian cancer; KB-9558, a p300 KAT inhibitor targeting the IRF4 transcriptional regulatory network in preclinical development for multiple myeloma and HPV-driven tumors; and KB-7898, a p300 KAT inhibitor in preclinical development for Sjögren’s disease. Kronos Bio, founded in 2017 and headquartered in San Mateo, California, primarily operates in the United States within the biotechnology sector, serving patients with high-unmet-need oncology and immunology indications. In mid-2025, the company undergoes acquisition by Concentra Biosciences, LLC, for $0.57 per share in cash plus contingent value rights tied to pipeline asset dispositions and cost savings, following a definitive merger agreement announced on May 1, 2025; subsequently in October 2025, Ignota Labs acquires its clinical-stage assets, including istisociclib. As of June 2025, Kronos Bio operates as a subsidiary of Concentra Biosciences with approximately 10 employees.
