Founded in 1970 and headquartered in Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, the company offers a comprehensive range of products including kitchen cabinets, sinks, appliances, dining tables and chairs, bedroom and living room furniture, bathroom fixtures, household accessories, fabric products, lighting, and building materials such as floors and windows; it also provides construction services, partial and full home remodeling for kitchens and bathrooms, imported interior furniture distribution, and package interior design coordinating furniture, fabrics, and household items across bedrooms, living rooms, children's rooms, studies, kitchens, and bathrooms. Hanssem distributes these offerings through design parks, specialized kitchen and interior stores, online shopping malls, affiliated interior outlets, and construction company channels, targeting residential customers with mid-to-high-end individual products and renovation services under brands like Rehaus. In recent developments, IMM Private Equity became the largest shareholder following capital injections and strategic support, while the company sold its Seoul headquarters building in Mapo district in a KRW 320 billion ($235 million) sale-leaseback transaction to a joint venture of Hines and Gravity Asset Management in 2024, bolstering liquidity amid efforts to refocus on B2C growth and high-margin renovations; Hanssem also announced equity buyback programs for up to 337,837 shares and 200,000 shares, alongside plans to enhance average order values through targeted marketing and product lineup strengthening into 2025.
