- Oriental Weavers Carpet Company S.A.E. is an Egypt-based multinational manufacturer and distributor of machine-woven carpets, rugs, and related textile floor coverings. Founded in 1979 by Mohamed Farid Khamis and headquartered in 10th of Ramadan City, Egypt, the company operates as the flagship enterprise of the Oriental Weavers Group and stands as one of the world's largest machine-made rug producers. Oriental Weavers operates a vertically integrated business model encompassing polymer processing, yarn spinning and extrusion, dyeing, weaving, tufting, digital printing, finishing, and global distribution. The company organizes its business activities across three primary operating segments: Woven Carpets and Rugs, Tufted and Printed Carpets, and Non-Woven and Industrial Fibers. Its comprehensive product portfolio includes machine-woven area rugs and runners across contemporary, classic, and transitional designs; luxury custom Axminster, Wilton, and Colortec broadloom carpets engineered for hospitality, corporate, gaming, palace, mosque, and aviation installations; residential wall-to-wall carpeting; tufted bath mats, accent rugs, and kitchen runners; digital-printed indoor and outdoor mats; needle-punched carpets, underlays, and automotive textile linings; gobelin wall tapestries; and upstream industrial materials comprising polypropylene and polyester filament yarns, staple fibers, masterbatch colorants, and woven backing fabrics. The company commercializes its products under proprietary brands including Oriental Weavers, MAC Carpets, and Egyptian Fibers Company (EFCO), supplying mass retailers, department stores, furniture retail chains, e-commerce platforms, home improvement centers, and commercial contract clients globally. Oriental Weavers maintains industrial manufacturing complexes in Egypt, the United States, and China, operating international distribution hubs and exporting products to more than 130 countries across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region, supplemented by an extensive domestic retail showroom network across Egypt. In recent operational and strategic developments, Oriental Weavers completed a corporate ownership restructuring consolidating major founding-family equity into the holding vehicle FYK Limited to optimize group governance and international investment capabilities. The company has also expanded its manufacturing infrastructure through investments in advanced high-speed jacquard looms, automated tufting machinery, and recycled polyester (rPET) extrusion lines to expand its eco-friendly product range. Furthermore, Oriental Weavers commissioned industrial-scale rooftop solar photovoltaic systems across its primary production facilities in 10th of Ramadan City to hedge energy costs and advance sustainability targets, broadened its direct-to-consumer digital sales channels, and strengthened contract supply partnerships across the Gulf region to capture growing demand from hospitality and tourism developments.
