Business
MOT Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based industrial technology company primarily engaged in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of secondary battery production equipment and automated assembly systems. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Yangsan, South Korea, the company specializes in customized automation solutions for the assembly stage of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, catering primarily to tier-one battery manufacturers and automotive original equipment manufacturers across South Korea, North America, Europe, and Asia. The company provides a comprehensive portfolio of manufacturing machinery and services organized into several core categories: Secondary Battery Assembly Line Equipment, which includes automated tab welding machines, jelly-roll insertion systems, can-cap laser welding equipment, cap assembly apparatus, electrolyte filling and injection machines, degassing units, and final seal laser welding systems for prismatic and pouch battery cells; Advanced Battery Manufacturing Solutions, comprising specialized automation equipment for next-generation all-solid-state batteries (ASSB), lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, and 46-series large-format cylindrical batteries; and Smart Factory Automation Systems, encompassing precision robotic handling mechanisms, automated guided vehicle (AGV) integration, machine vision-based inline quality inspection modules, and proprietary manufacturing execution and control software. In recent developments, MOT Co., Ltd. completed its initial public offering (IPO) and listed its shares on the KOSDAQ market in November 2024 under the ticker 413390, securing capital to expand manufacturing capacity and accelerate next-generation equipment development. The company has expanded its supply footprint to support international gigafactory expansions, including joint-venture electric vehicle battery plant projects in North America and Europe, while simultaneously advancing the commercial validation and pilot line testing of automated assembly systems for solid-state and large-diameter cylindrical battery formats.
