Business
Kymera Therapeutics, Inc. (KYMR) is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company that discovers and develops small molecule therapeutics utilizing targeted protein degradation to selectively eliminate disease-causing proteins by harnessing the body's natural protein degradation machinery; its proprietary Pegasus platform supports a pipeline focused primarily on immunology and inflammation disorders, with additional programs in oncology. The company offers investigational oral degraders including KT-621, a first-in-class STAT6 degrader in Phase 1 trials for Th2-mediated diseases such as atopic dermatitis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, prurigo nodularis, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, eosinophilic esophagitis, bullous pemphigoid and chronic spontaneous urticaria; KT-579, an IRF5 degrader in IND-enabling studies for autoimmune conditions including lupus, Sjögren’s syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, systemic sclerosis and dermatomyositis; and KT-485 (SAR447971), a second-generation IRAK4 degrader prioritized by partner Sanofi for clinical advancement in immuno-inflammatory diseases like hidradenitis suppurativa, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, asthma and others. It also advances a CDK2 molecular glue degrader program in collaboration with Gilead Sciences targeting oncology indications such as breast cancer and other solid tumors where CCNE1 amplification drives resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitors. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Watertown, Massachusetts, Kymera operates globally with partnerships including Sanofi for IRAK4 degraders outside oncology, providing milestone payments up to $975 million, U.S. co-commercialization option and profit-sharing, and royalties elsewhere; and Gilead for the CDK2 program, offering up to $750 million including $85 million upfront and option fees plus tiered royalties. Recent developments encompass the June 2025 Gilead alliance for CDK2, Sanofi's prioritization of KT-485 for clinical studies by year-end 2025 with a related $20 million preclinical milestone to Kymera, expansion of the immunology pipeline with the IRF5 program (KT-579) announced in May 2025 targeting rheumatic and autoimmune diseases, and positive Phase 1 data for KT-621 and prior IRAK4 degrader KT-474.
