Founded in 1978 and headquartered in York, England, Severfield maintains manufacturing facilities across the UK in Dalton, Sherburn, Lostock, Carnaby and Ballinamallard; in Europe via its Netherlands-headquartered Voortman Steel Construction operations in Rijssen and Maassluis with offices in Breda; and supports projects throughout the UK, Republic of Ireland and continental Europe. Recent developments include the 2023 acquisition of Voortman Steel Construction Holding B.V. to expand European capabilities and access new markets with advanced robotic production technology; the December 2024 contract with Ørsted for the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm marking entry into offshore renewables; and in 2022 the creation of Severfield Nuclear and Infrastructure division from the prior acquisition of DAM Structures and Harry Peers & Co, enhancing focus on nuclear and transport sectors.
