Business
Mayfair Gold Corp Mayfair Gold Corp is a Canada-based mineral exploration company focused on advancing its 100%-owned Fenn-Gib gold project located in the Timmins Gold District of northeast Ontario, approximately 80 km east of Timmins and 21 km east of Matheson. The company holds interests in 21 fee simple patented properties, 152 unpatented mining claims, and 144 patented leasehold mining claims covering 1,877.8 hectares in the Guibord, Munro, Michaud, and McCool Townships; the flagship Fenn-Gib project hosts an updated NI 43-101 open-pit constrained indicated mineral resource of 181.3 million tonnes grading 0.74 g/t gold containing 4.3 million ounces and an inferred resource of 8.92 million tonnes grading 0.49 g/t gold containing 0.14 million ounces, both at a 0.30 g/t Au cut-off, effective September 3, 2024. It targets development of a conventional open-pit mining operation with a 4,800 tonne-per-day processing plant employing sulphide/gold rougher flotation, concentrate regrind, and carbon-in-leach cyanidation, achieving metallurgical gold recoveries of 88.4% for grades above 1.5 g/t Au and 82.5% for grades above 0.8 g/t Au based on 2025 variability testing across 50 composites. Operations emphasize a near-surface higher-grade starter pit zone for optimized early mine planning, supported by Highway 101 access, existing infrastructure, and engagement with local communities including the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation. Recent developments include filing an NI 43-101 technical report on October 14, 2025, closing a C$40 million life financing on September 15, 2025, to fund metallurgical testing, detailed engineering, permitting, and pre-feasibility study work; updating the Fenn-Gib open-pit mineral resource and initiating expanded metallurgical programs; strengthening the management team with key appointments; and securing $40 million funding in Q3 2025 for project advancement amid rising gold prices. In March 2025, Mayfair announced intentions, via a Discovery Group-led takeover bid, to acquire Gold Basin Resources and Canex Metals for their Arizona gold assets, though no completion has been confirmed.
