Medallion Financial Corp., including its various subsidiaries, functions as a specialty finance firm throughout the United States. The company organizes its principal operations into five distinct areas: Recreation Lending, Home Improvement Lending, Commercial Lending, Taxi Medallion Lending, and Strategic Partnership Loans. It offers financing for consumer purchases of recreational vehicles, boats, and travel trailers; extends credit for homeowner renovations; provides capital for diverse commercial enterprises; and traditionally, funded taxi medallions for individuals and small to mid-sized businesses. The organization also delivers commercial loans for acquiring necessary equipment and related assets to launch new businesses, or to purchase or enhance existing ones. Moreover, it supplies debt, mezzanine, and equity investment capital to companies operating across numerous sectors. Through its wholly-owned Medallion Bank, the company gathers deposits and conducts various other banking activities. Medallion Financial Corp. was incorporated in 1995 and is headquartered in New York City, New York.
