Business
Maximus, Inc. is a global government services enterprise that specializes in administering health and human services programs by delivering technology-driven business process solutions. The company operates across three main segments: U.S. Services, U.S. Federal Services, and Outside the U.S.. Founded in 1975 and headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, Maximus assists governments worldwide in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of critical public services. Its revenue model is primarily based on securing and fulfilling long-term contracts with various governmental agencies. The U.S. Services segment provides a comprehensive array of business process services, appeals, assessments, and advisory work for state and local government initiatives. These include critical programs such as the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), child support, as well as specialized disability and health assessments. This segment also manages eligibility and enrollment support, runs centralized multilingual contact centers, offers digital self-service options, provides health plan counseling, and conducts beneficiary outreach and redeterminations. Within the U.S. Federal Services segment, Maximus delivers end-to-end solutions for various federal government agencies. This encompasses citizen engagement and support centers, records management, case management, and consumer education services. Additionally, it handles independent medical reviews, worker's compensation benefit appeals, and appeals for Medicare and Medicaid programs. This segment is also instrumental in systems modernization, information technology infrastructure development and support, software solutions, and advanced data analytics. It accounts for a significant portion of the company's total revenue, driven by clinical programs and support for federal initiatives. The Outside the U.S. segment extends Maximus's reach internationally, offering business process services to governments and commercial clients in regions like the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. Services here include health and disability assessments, administration of employment services, wellbeing support, and other programs designed to assist job seekers. Maximus continually focuses on leveraging advanced technology, including artificial intelligence and automation, to improve operational efficiency and expand its service offerings for government partners and the citizens they serve. The company reported full-year revenue of $5.43 billion for fiscal year 2025, driven by strong performance, particularly in its U.S. Federal Services segment. Recent strategic wins include new federal contracts for cybersecurity services and state-based marketplace contracts.
