- Magnitogorsk Hardware and Sizing Plant MMK-METIZ (MOEX: MMMZ) is a Russian metal processing and industrial manufacturing company primarily engaged in the production and commercial distribution of steel wire, metalware, fasteners, and calibrated steel products. Founded in 1942 and headquartered in Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk Region, Russia, the company operates as a specialized downstream subsidiary of PJSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK Group). The enterprise manufactures goods for a wide range of end markets, including the construction, mechanical engineering, automotive, railway infrastructure, oil and gas, energy, and mining sectors across the Russian Federation and CIS region.
The company offers an extensive portfolio of products organized across several key categories: low-carbon, high-carbon, and alloyed steel wire for reinforcement, binding, springs, cold heading, and cable manufacturing; industrial and structural fasteners, including high-strength bolts, nuts, washers, screws, and rivets for bridge engineering, heavy construction, and machinery; railway fasteners and track fittings, such as rail spikes, fishplate bolts, terminal bolts, rail clips, and sleeper screws; steel wire ropes and multi-strand cables engineered for mining hoists, overhead cranes, marine transport, and elevators; welding consumables, comprising solid welding wire, submerged arc welding wires, flux-cored wires, and coated electrodes; cold-drawn and calibrated sizing steel bars in round, square, and hexagonal cross-sections; and woven, welded, and chain-link wire meshes.
MMK-METIZ has actively advanced its multi-stage strategic investment and modernization program aimed at import substitution and increasing output of high-margin specialty products. Recent operational milestones include the commissioning of automated high-speed cold-heading and thread-rolling machinery for the manufacture of specialized metric and self-drilling fasteners; the installation of state-of-the-art continuous heat-treatment and protective coating lines for structural bolts; and the expansion of production lines dedicated to high-tensile spring wire and specialized welding wire for the automotive and transportation sectors. Additionally, the company has consolidated its manufacturing infrastructure into specialized technological clusters, implemented automated visual inspection systems to raise quality standards, and integrated energy-efficient heating equipment to reduce production emissions.
