Micron Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: MU) manufactures and sells advanced memory and storage solutions worldwide, including high-performance DRAM, NAND flash, NOR flash, high-bandwidth memory (HBM3E), NVMe SSDs such as the Micron 9400 series, Universal Flash Storage (UFS) for smartphones and automotive systems, and solid-state drives under the Crucial brand; the company serves data centers, AI applications, consumer electronics, automotive, industrial, and mobile markets from fabrication facilities in the United States, Taiwan, Japan, and Singapore. Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Boise, Idaho, Micron delivers these products through its Micron and Crucial brands to enable high-speed computing, efficient data storage, and innovations in generative AI, 5G, autonomous vehicles, and edge computing. In June 2025, Micron announced plans to invest approximately $200 billion in U.S. semiconductor manufacturing and R&D, including a second leading-edge memory fabrication plant in Boise, Idaho, expansion of its New York megafab, modernization of its Manassas, Virginia facility with $275 million in CHIPS Act funding to onshore 1-alpha DRAM production, and development of advanced HBM packaging capabilities to meet AI-driven demand and achieve 40% domestic DRAM output; the company expanded its strategic collaboration with Pure Storage in January 2025 to integrate Micron G9 QLC NAND into DirectFlash Modules for hyperscale data centers, enhancing capacity, performance, and energy efficiency; additionally, Micron shipped Automotive UFS 4.1 in November 2025 to support intelligent mobility applications with improved speed, safety, and reliability.
