(NASDAQ: MVIS) develops and commercializes advanced lidar hardware, perception software, and validation solutions for autonomy and mobility applications in automotive, industrial, defense, and logistics sectors; its core products include the MAVIN long-range MEMS-based lidar sensor for small object detection in automotive OEMs, MOVIA L solid-state lidar for industrial and automotive short- to mid-range applications such as ADAS and autonomous forklifts, MOVIA S compact lidar for short-range detection, MOSAIK suite for automated sensor and algorithm validation using machine learning, perception software for data processing and object tracking, and engineering services for custom hardware-software integration; the company also offers software tools for flexible lidar deployment and targets markets including trucking, warehousing, ports, agriculture, mining, construction, and smart infrastructure. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Redmond, Washington, with offices in Detroit, Hamburg, and a new Virginia office for defense, MicroVision operates primarily in the United States and Europe. In recent developments, the company acquired Ibeo Automotive Systems GmbH in January 2023 to bolster its lidar expertise, secured $75 million in financing from High Trail Investments in October 2024 to support industrial revenue growth and MOVIA L volume production, raised up to $17 million in additional capital with debt reduction in February 2025, entered an agreement in October 2025 to acquire Scantinel Photonics GmbH's 1550nm FMCW lidar assets and team through a new German entity for commercial vehicle applications, established a defense-focused aerial systems team, appointed Glen DeVos as CEO and added directors Laura Peterson and advisor Scott Goldstein, and integrated MOVIA lidar with NVIDIA DRIVE AGX for automakers.
