- Steel Hawk Berhad is a Malaysia-based investment holding company that provides engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) services, facilities improvement and maintenance, and specialized oilfield equipment supply and installation solutions to the onshore and offshore energy, utility, and heavy engineering industries. Founded in 2012 through its core operating subsidiary Steel Hawk Engineering Sdn. Bhd. and headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, the company conducts its primary operations across Malaysia—anchored by operational bases, warehouses, and fabrication yards in Teluk Kalung, Kemaman, Terengganu, and Miri, Sarawak—with international service capabilities extending into Brunei. The group operates across three principal business segments: EPCC Services and Facilities Improvement/Maintenance; Installation and Maintenance of Oilfield Equipment; and Supply of Oilfield Equipment. Under EPCC Services and Facilities Improvement/Maintenance, the company provides turnkey engineering, fabrication, and brownfield modification services for onshore processing terminals and offshore oil and gas production platforms; structural upgrades and piping installation; design, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of modular chemical injection skids used for well stimulation, flow assurance, and pipeline corrosion prevention; blast wall engineering; helideck construction; and offshore living quarter (LQ) refurbishment and repair. Under Installation and Maintenance of Oilfield Equipment, the company delivers engineering maintenance, refurbishment, integrity testing, and retrofitting services for pipeline pig trap systems, including pig launcher and receiver barrels; fire-rated door assemblies (15-minute, 1-hour, and 2-hour fire-rated doors certified to BOMBA, SIRIM, and PETRONAS Technical Standards); oil spill recovery systems; valve automation and control mechanisms; and pressure containment components. Under Supply of Oilfield Equipment, the company sources and distributes specialized oilfield hardware, structural valves, instrumentation devices, safety apparatus, line pipes, electrical fittings, and replacement components to exploration and production operators, engineering contractors, and industrial plants. The company primarily serves upstream, midstream, and downstream energy operators, national oil corporations, and infrastructure enterprises, including Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd., PETRONAS Gas Berhad, E&P O&M Services Sdn. Bhd. (EPOMS), and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). In recent strategic developments, Steel Hawk Berhad successfully transferred its listing from the LEAP Market to the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia in September 2024, utilizing public issue proceeds to construct its new Teluk Kalung Facility 2 fabrication plant in Kemaman, Terengganu, expanding its in-house structural fabrication capacity five-fold from 13 tonnes to 65 tonnes per month to internalize heavy offshore fabrication workflows. Concurrently, the group has diversified its business portfolio beyond traditional hydrocarbon services through the incorporation of targeted subsidiaries—including Steel Hawk Defence Sdn. Bhd., Steel Hawk Digital Sdn. Bhd., Steel Hawk Infrastructure Sdn. Bhd., Steel Hawk Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd., and Steel Hawk Utility Sdn. Bhd.—to capture opportunities in defense engineering equipment, security hardware, digitalization, and power utilities, underscored by a major multi-million ringgit subcontract collaboration for electrical grid infrastructure works with Tenaga Nasional Berhad alongside multiple multi-year offshore construction, modification, pigging, and facility maintenance contract awards from PETRONAS and EPOMS.
