Business
MKH Oil Palm (East Kalimantan) Berhad is an upstream agribusiness and palm oil plantation company primarily engaged in oil palm cultivation, fresh fruit bunch harvesting, and the processing and commercial sale of crude palm oil and related byproducts. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Kajang, Selangor, Malaysia, the company operates as the plantation subsidiary of Malaysian conglomerate MKH Berhad. The company's principal agricultural operations are situated across approximately 18,205 hectares of oil palm estates in the Kutai Kartanegara region of East Kalimantan, Indonesia, managed through its operating subsidiaries PT Maju Kalimantan Hadapan and PT Sawit Prima Sakti. MKH Oil Palm (East Kalimantan) Berhad produces, processes, and markets a systematic portfolio of agricultural commodities and related processing services, which includes: Crude Palm Oil (CPO) extracted from fresh fruit bunches for domestic and international edible oil refiners and industrial food processors; Palm Kernel (PK) produced as a secondary seed byproduct during milling; Crude Palm Kernel Oil (CPKO) and Palm Kernel Expeller (PKE) produced through mechanical kernel crushing operations; Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) cultivated and harvested from mature plantation acreage; palm oil milling and processing services supported by an on-site extraction mill with an operational capacity of 90 metric tonnes per hour; integrated seed-crushing services through a palm kernel crushing facility with a daily capacity of 90 metric tonnes; riverine logistics and maritime bulk-handling services via company-owned jetty infrastructure along the Mahakam River basin; and agricultural waste-to-energy power generation through biomass utilization and biogas capture systems. The company primarily serves commodity trading houses, downstream vegetable oil refineries, and oleochemical manufacturers across Southeast Asia. In recent major corporate and operational developments, the company completed its initial public offering and listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in April 2024, raising gross proceeds of approximately 136.4 million Malaysian ringgit to fund plantation expansions and infrastructure enhancements. Executing on its growth and landbank expansion strategy, the company moved to acquire a 100 percent equity interest in PT Tunas Tani Tutus to secure an additional 3,097 hectares of plantation land in East Kalimantan near Indonesia's new capital corridor. Furthermore, MKH Oil Palm (East Kalimantan) Berhad completed and operationalized a new 90-metric-tonne-per-day palm kernel crushing plant, enhancing its vertical integration capabilities and broadening its product offerings into value-added crude palm kernel oil extraction.
