Business
United Malacca Berhad is an upstream plantation and agribusiness company engaged in the cultivation of oil palm, palm oil milling, and agroforestry operations. Founded in 1910 and headquartered in Melaka, Malaysia, the company manages extensive agricultural landholdings across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Indonesia. Its core products and services encompass the cultivation and harvesting of fresh fruit bunches; the extraction, processing, and marketing of crude palm oil and palm kernel; the operation of palm oil processing mills, including the Bukit Senorang Palm Oil Mill in Pahang, the Meridian Palm Oil Mill in Sabah, and milling facilities in Central Kalimantan; the provision of plantation management and agricultural consultancy services; and commercial agroforestry development and investment holding activities. The group operates across two primary geographical segments: Malaysia, spanning oil palm estates in Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Johor, and Sabah; and Indonesia, comprising concessions in Central Kalimantan through PT Lifere Agro Kapuas and agroforestry interests in Central Sulawesi. In recent developments, United Malacca Berhad completed the acquisition of the remaining 17% equity interest in PT Lifere Agro Kapuas from PT Bank OCBC NISP Tbk for approximately USD 10 million (RM 42 million), consolidating full 100% ownership of its Indonesian plantation and milling operations. The group also entered into a joint venture with Far East Holdings Berhad and Prosper Capital Holdings Sdn Bhd to establish PARAS Sdn Bhd, a centralized shared services entity designed to enhance operational efficiencies. Concurrently, the company continues to execute accelerated replanting programs utilizing high-yielding clonal oil palm materials across its mature Malaysian acreage, while expanding field mechanization, digital plantation monitoring systems, and sustainability compliance under the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) and Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) standards.
