The company’s core products include environmentally friendly packaging paper such as linerboard, high-performance corrugating medium, coated duplex board; printing and writing paper; high-end virgin paper; specialty paper; and pulp products. It supplies containerboard products including kraft linerboard. Recent major developments include the expansion of production capacity, with the Group’s total annual design production capacity reaching over 25 million tonnes of paper and pulp as of mid-2024. This includes new capacity additions of more than 3 million tonnes of wood pulp from facilities in Beihai, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Jingzhou, Hubei Province, alongside increases in paper production capacity for bleached folding boxboard and printing and writing paper. The Group has also launched a new intelligent paper manufacturing base in Selangor, Malaysia in 2023, further expanding its market share. In addition, it completed significant acquisitions of pulp and paper mills in the United States, including the Rumford and Old Town mills in Maine, the Biron mill in Wisconsin, and the Fairmont mill in West Virginia, enhancing its integrated production capabilities across regions. Nine Dragons acquired multiple packaging companies in China and expanded internationally to enhance resources and production complementary advantages.
These strategic expansions and acquisitions underpin Nine Dragons Paper’s continued position as a leading player in the global paper and packaging industry, emphasizing sustainable production through extensive use of recycled fiber as raw material and diversified product offerings that support a broad range of industrial and commercial customers across Asia, North America, and ASEAN markets. The company employs over 20,000 people and is publicly listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under ticker 2689.HK.
