Business
The Peria Karamalai Tea and Produce Company Limited primarily engages in the production and distribution of tea, operating tea gardens located in Valparai, Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 1913, it manages four tea gardens—Karamalai, Akkamalai, Vellamalai, and Nadumalai—and has two tea factories with a combined tea production capacity of approximately 5 million kilograms annually, of which 1 million kilograms are high-quality orthodox tea. The company maintains a state-of-the-art HACCP- and FSSAI-certified blending unit in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu. Recently, the company faced a 36% decline in sales in the September 2025 quarter and reported a net loss of Rs 5.12 crore for the same period. It is currently undergoing operational refinements including initiatives to manage unclaimed dividends and KYC updates during the 2025–26 fiscal year. The Peria Karamalai Tea and Produce Company Limited is a subsidiary of the LNB Group, which has diversified interests in textiles, renewable energy, agriculture supply chain management, wellness, and financial services. The firm continues to explore new business opportunities aligned with its group philosophy while focusing on its core agricultural and energy businesses. Its headquarters are in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.
