Business
Sarla Performance Fibers Limited is an India-based company engaged in the manufacture and export of high-performance polyester and nylon yarns including textured, twisted, and dyed yarns, covered yarns, high tenacity yarns, and sewing threads. The company produces over 250 varieties of value-added yarns and threads used across diverse applications such as automotive seat belts and trims, airbags, upholstery, dress, casual and athletic footwear, leather goods, soft luggage, lingerie, swimwear, sportswear, hosiery, medical bandages, narrow fabrics, and denim. It operates through multiple world-class manufacturing facilities located in Silvassa, Dadra, and Vapi, with substantial capacity for air covering, single and double conventional covering yarns, dyeing, twisting, and spinning. Founded as Sarla Polyester Limited and headquartered in Mumbai, the company has evolved from manufacturing commodity yarns to specialized and high value-added yarns customized to client specifications. Sarla Performance Fibers holds the largest capacity in India for air-covered and conventional covered yarns and is the first Indian company to establish high-tenacity Nylon 6 and Nylon 6.6 spinning for sewing and other applications. Its product portfolio includes stretch polyester and nylon yarns engineered for enhanced durability and crimp rigidity, high tenacity yarns ideal for industrial sewing threads and high-performance fabrics, and covered yarns like spandex covered yarn utilized in medical textiles, fashion, and hosiery. Recent major changes include a significant share acquisition by Hindustan Cotton Company in 2025, signaling a possible strategic shift in ownership structure. The company has been expanding manufacturing capacity for high-tenacity yarns such as Nylon 66 from 1 TPD to 3 TPD and Nylon 6 from 3 TPD to 8 TPD, targeting revenue growth exceeding Rs. 600 crore upon full capacity utilization. It also received a favorable judgment from the Gujarat High Court in late 2025, removing a liability worth Rs. 415.7 million. Sarla maintains an ISO 9001:2015 certification and continues to enhance its manufacturing and dyeing capabilities to serve global markets with exports to over 60 countries. Sarla Performance Fibers operates primarily within the textile and performance fibers industry segments, targeting global apparel brands, automotive component manufacturers, medical and industrial applications, and consumer textile sectors. The firm is vertically integrated from spinning to yarn dyeing, bonding, and winding, allowing deep customization and quality control. Its strategic focus remains on innovation and growth in specialty yarn markets, supported by a solid promoter experience of over two decades and robust financial health reflected in ratings reaffirmed to ACUITE A and A1 for its bank facilities.
