Incorporated in 1962 and headquartered in Jamshedpur, India, the company, originally promoted by Tata Steel and ACC Limited, designs, manufactures, erects, and commissions equipment such as wagon tipplers, stacker reclaimers, traveling wagon loaders, crushers including hydraulic cone and double roll types, screens including roller, truflo, and ultraflo vibrating screens, feeders like rotary plough, apron, and unbalance motor types, conveyors including sectional, mine, and belt varieties, load haul dumpers, grab type ship unloaders, goose neck level luffing cranes, ring granulators, rotary breakers, travelling trippers, pulleys, wagon-tippler-with-side-arm-chargers, traveling wagon and side discharge loaders; it also provides bulk material handling systems for steel, power, ports, mining, cement, fertilizers, and coal handling plants including coal dust injection systems for blast furnaces and stamping-charging-pushing machines for coke ovens, alongside design and engineering services, quality control and assurance, health assessments, refurbishment, operation and maintenance, life cycle services, electromechanical jobs, industrial structure fabrication, supervision, manpower deployment, leasing of facilities, spare parts, construction contracts, and EPC services for infrastructure sectors targeting power plants, ports, steel plants, cement factories, fertilizers, and mining operations. In recent developments, Tata Steel, holding a 34% stake as an associate, called off its proposed merger with TRF in early 2024 following improvements in TRF's business performance driven by Tata Steel's operational and financial support through order placements and capital infusions, enhanced debtor collections, cost and asset optimization, alongside TRF's positioning to contribute to Tata Steel Kalinganagar Phase 2 capacity enhancement and other projects via its manufacturing, design, engineering, and life cycle services capabilities in Jamshedpur. The company maintains a manufacturing facility spanning 22 acres with six covered bays in Jamshedpur, employs around 422 personnel, and leverages advanced design software and collaborations with international partners for product upgrades focused on reliability, productivity, and longevity in core infrastructure industries.
