- Kenya Pipeline Company PLC (NSE: KPC) is a Kenya-based midstream energy and logistics corporation engaged in the transportation, storage, handling, and distribution of refined petroleum products across East and Central Africa. The company operates through several core business and service segments: Petroleum Transportation Services, operating an integrated pipeline network of over 1,340 kilometers transporting white petroleum products, including automotive gas oil (diesel), motor gasoline (super petrol), and dual-purpose kerosene; Petroleum Storage and Terminaling Services, providing bulk storage, handling, and depot management across strategic inland and coastal installations, including the Kipevu Oil Storage Facility and the Nairobi Terminal; Aviation Fueling Services, supplying Jet A-1 aviation turbine fuel and managing dedicated hydrant systems and aviation depots at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Moi International Airport; Marine and Lake Logistics, operating the Kisumu Oil Jetty to facilitate maritime petroleum export and transshipment across Lake Victoria; Telecommunications Infrastructure Services, offering dark fibre leasing and bandwidth capacity along its right-of-way pipeline network to telecommunication carriers and internet service providers; Petroleum Quality and Calibration Testing Services, providing accredited laboratory testing, quality assurance, and equipment calibration for refined hydrocarbons; and Technical Training Services, delivered through the Morendat Institute of Oil and Gas (MIOG), providing specialized vocational and executive training in pipeline management, energy infrastructure safety, and petroleum operations. The company primarily serves domestic and international oil marketing companies (OMCs), commercial airlines, industrial consumers, and transit energy markets across Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In recent major corporate and strategic developments, Kenya Pipeline Company transitioned to a publicly listed entity following a privatization process and Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Nairobi Securities Exchange, through which the Government of Kenya divested a 65 percent equity stake while retaining 35 percent ownership. The company also completed the acquisition and integration of Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited (KPRL) as a wholly owned subsidiary, repurposing its Mombasa refinery assets into bulk petroleum and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage infrastructure. Furthermore, the company facilitated a 31-year lease agreement with Asharami Synergy for the development of a 30,000-metric-tonne common-user LPG import and storage terminal on KPRL land. Additionally, KPC partnered with the Government of Uganda to advance the cross-border extension of the refined petroleum pipeline from Eldoret to Kampala, and completed capacity enhancement upgrades on Line IV between Nairobi and Eldoret to increase throughput to 515 cubic meters per hour. Founded on September 6, 1973, and commencing commercial operations in 1978, Kenya Pipeline Company PLC is headquartered at Kenpipe Plaza in Nairobi, Kenya.
