(NASDAQ: NXST) operates as the largest local television broadcasting group in the United States, owning or partnering with more than 200 stations in 116 markets that reach 220 million people or 70% of U.S. television households; it produces and distributes over 316,000 hours annually of local and national news, sports, and entertainment content across television and digital platforms. Core offerings encompass top network affiliates of ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, The CW, MyNetworkTV, and other broadcast networks; national properties including full ownership of The CW, NewsNation national cable news network, entertainment multicast networks Antenna TV and Rewind TV, a 31.3% stake in TV Food Network, and WGN-AM radio in Chicago; digital assets such as 138 local websites, 229 mobile apps, NewsNationNow.com, The Hill, connected TV apps, free ad-supported TV channels, BestReviews consumer product reviews platform, and video/display advertising solutions including native advertising, social media, and ad operations. The company, founded in 1996 and headquartered in Irving, Texas, with additional offices in Manhattan and Chicago, employs over 13,000 people and targets local viewers, advertisers, and businesses through multi-platform marketing in the U.S. Nexstar pursues geographic expansion and operational enhancements, including a definitive agreement announced in August 2025 to acquire TEGNA Inc.
