Business
Owens Corning (NYSE: OC) manufactures and markets glass fiber reinforcements and engineered materials for composites; residential and commercial insulation products including fiberglass batts, rolls, loose-fill, rigid foam boards such as Foamular NGX, and mineral wool under brands like Thermafiber; roofing systems comprising laminate and architectural shingles such as Duration Series, underlayment, accessories, and asphalt products; and interior and exterior door systems through its Masonite subsidiary, including wood, fiberglass, and steel doors under the Doors That Do More strategy. The company serves residential and commercial building markets, industrial applications, and composite systems for automotive, aerospace, marine, wind energy, and consumer goods sectors. Owens Corning operates approximately 100 facilities across the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific; employs more than 25,000 people worldwide; and maintains its headquarters in Toledo, Ohio, where it was founded in 1938. In May 2024, Owens Corning completed its $3.9 billion acquisition of Masonite International, expanding its residential building products portfolio with doors and creating a new growth platform targeting 20% adjusted EBITDA margins through synergies and innovation. The company invests in manufacturing capacity, including a new southeastern U.S. shingle plant in Prattville, Alabama, with a four-wide laminator producing six million squares annually starting in 2027; a Foamular NGX insulation facility in Russellville, Arkansas, operational by late 2025; and laminate upgrades at its Medina, Ohio plant. In 2024, Owens Corning reported sales of $11.0 billion, reinforcing its position as a Fortune 500 company and global leader in sustainable building materials.
