The company operates through segments including industrial automation, electronic and mechanical components, automotive electronic components, social systems, solutions and services, healthcare, and others; industrial automation products encompass control systems, motion and drives, sensors, robotics, safety components, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs); electronic components include relays, switches, connectors, and micro-sensing devices; social systems feature access control, traffic management systems, automated ticket gates, and security cameras primarily in Japan; healthcare offerings comprise blood pressure monitors, digital thermometers, nebulizers, body composition monitors, pedometers, and professional-use patient monitors and ECGs; device and module solutions cover power supplies and environmental sensors. OMRON provides products and services in more than 130 countries across Americas, Europe, Greater China, and Asia Pacific regions, targeting industrial, consumer, medical, and infrastructure markets. Founded in 1933 and headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, the company employs approximately 26,600 people and maintains subsidiaries such as OMRON Healthcare Co., Ltd. and OMRON Ventures Inc. Recent developments include the launch of Structural Reform Program NEXT 2025 to revitalize industrial automation and profitability; a strategic partnership with Japan Activation Capital in July 2025 to accelerate growth and corporate value; the acquisition of iCARE Co., Ltd. in September 2025 to bolster corporate health solutions and data-driven healthcare services; and investments by OMRON Ventures in SkyLabs for blood pressure innovation and prior collaborative expansions in robotics.
