Business
Oportun Financial Corporation (Nasdaq: OPRT) provides financial services to near-prime and underserved consumers in the United States, including personal loans, secured auto loans, credit cards, deposit accounts, debit card services, and savings and budgeting tools; it operates through online platforms, mobile applications, over-the-phone channels, retail locations in 109 stores across various states, and Lending as a Service partnerships. Founded in 2005 and headquartered in San Carlos, California, the mission-driven company, certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Treasury since 2009, serves approximately 2.0 million members, many from underrepresented groups, helping them establish credit history, access responsible and affordable credit totaling over $19.7 billion disbursed, and save more than $2.4 billion in interest and fees since inception. In September 2025, Oportun extended its lending partnership with Pathward Financial through 2029 to support nationwide unsecured and secured personal loans; in October 2025, it secured a new $247 million three-year revolving warehouse facility led by Citizens Financial Group and Community Investment Management, alongside a 12-month extension on an existing facility with Goldman Sachs and Jefferies, while reducing higher-cost corporate debt from $235 million to $185 million to lower financing costs and strengthen its balance sheet.
